« Personne ne remplissait la grange de Kubaba ». L’accumulation des céréales dans les inscriptions hiéroglyphiques des seigneurs locaux néo-hittites

 = Paper =

by Maria Elena BALZA, in Res Antiquae 14, 2017.

After the collapse of the Hittite state, the transition from the Bronze to the Iron Age in Southern Anatolia and Northern Syria brings with it a set of socio-economic and political transformations that also affect the royal ideology, the political discourse and the official image of the ruling elite. In this paper, first, some specific themes used in the construction of the political narrative of the ruling power during the Neo-Hittite period will be presented. Subsequently, a lesser-known literary topic will be surveyed, that is the topic of accumulation of grains by local rulers and its relationship with the Mesopotamian tradition.
