Naissance et essor d’un centre démographique en Dalmatie. La population de Burnum entre le Ier et le VIe siècle ap. J.‑C.

 = Paper =

by Hélène GLOGOWSKI, in Res Antiquae 14, 2017.

Archaeological surveys and excavation carried out in Burnum, Dalmatia, revealed part of the plan of the ancient site and made it possible to understand the different phases of its development. Although the structures are now well known, the population, on the other hand, has not been studied. This article proposes to study the ancient population which lived in Burnum, through the constitution and the analysis of an epigraphic corpus, as well as the examination of the material found on the site. The crossing of the data provided by epigraphy and archeology thus makes it possible to draw a portrait of the inhabitants of Burnum both in the first century, when the site was a military base, and later, when Burnum was reconverted into a municipium.
